It was a day of celebration and sport for the 55th edition of the Nove Colli. In the long course, victory went to Riccardo Barbuto, while Annalisa Prati claimed an impressive solo win in the women’s category. In the medium course, Vittorio Carrer took the men’s title, while Federica Cancellieri won the women’s race. A special mention – and a colorful highlight – goes to Isac Del Toro, who reached the final 5 kilometers alongside the two leading riders before pulling aside to allow them to battle for victory all the way to the finish.
The Winners’ Reactions
“I didn’t think I could win, and I believe it will take me some time to fully realize that I achieved such an important result. I also want to congratulate Luca Cavallo, who was an incredibly tough opponent right until the end,” said Riccardo Barbuto, winner of the long course.
“I’m exhausted and absolutely thrilled. A few years ago I lost in the sprint finish, so this time I decided to push the race forward without ever looking back. I want to thank my entire team, who worked so hard to help me achieve this result,” commented Annalisa Prati, winner of the women’s long course.
“I have to admit that on the Barbotto climb I had almost lost hope, but then I managed to get back into the group and suddenly the opportunity to win opened up. Three kilometers from the finish I was hit by cramps, but I switched my brain off and pushed with everything I had left,” said Vittorio Carrer, winner of the medium course.
“Winning this race is an incredible emotion, and I can hardly find the right words to describe this satisfaction. I had originally planned to ride the long course, but then I changed my mind,” said Federica Cancellieri, winner of the women’s medium course.
