The latecomers: friend by chance

As usual, all the Nove Colli-Selle Italia people have been cheerfully waiting the cyclist, or cyclists as in this case, who have closed the 2017 event.

They are three men all from Campania. They met along the way and basically became best friends after all the hours spent together riding to finish line. They have been rewarded with local food products and greeted warmly by the President, by the members of the board, the volunteers and by a lot of public, considered the late time in the day.

Giuseppe Maiorano, 59, from Eboli, province of Salerno. He is a physical education teacher and bike lover. "Last year I did the short, but I realized that the true Nove Colli is the long course. A unique emotion".

Italo Tesorone, 56, bar manager, and Massimo de Rosa, 48, owner of a sports shop. Both from Acerra, in the province of Naples. "We took the junction of the 205 km course at 12.28am then, they closed the gate just behind us" they say in unison "just few moments later we met Giuseppe and we went together all the way down of the granfondo. We have practically become best friends. This event is something unique. We will return”.
