The Granfondo Nove Colli has been awarded the Eco Certified Event certification by Legambiente, with the support of Ecoevents – Ambiente e Salute. This is an important recognition of our concrete commitment to making the event increasingly sustainable from both environmental and social standpoints.
This achievement is the result of a journey that began years ago, built on daily actions and responsible choices aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the event. Among the best practices adopted:
-
Water distribution through dispensers to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles
-
Awards with wooden medals from certified and sustainable supply chains
-
Charity race supporting local social projects
-
A dedicated GREEN TEAM for environmental monitoring, using photos, videos, and official reports on participants' behavior
-
Pasta Party with local products and compostable tableware
A particularly significant aspect of the 2025 edition was the offsetting of 50 tons of COâ‚‚ through the purchase of certified credits from the Katingan Peatland Restoration and Conservation Project in Indonesia.
This project protects and restores 149,800 hectares of peatland—among the most effective ecosystems for carbon absorption—and supports 34 local communities through microfinance, training, and the development of sustainable economic activities.
The project is certified according to the highest international standards (CCB Standards – Gold Level and Verified Carbon Standard), making a real contribution to the fight against climate change.
The Eco Certified Event certification is not a final goal but rather a milestone on a path that will continue in future editions, with new targets for improving the event’s respect for both the environment and the community.
