C is for Cesenatico, that once again proved to be the real capital for amateur cycling: the ideal scenario for the Queen of Granfondo's!
D is for Dodicimila, which means 12000 in Italian, the riders registered for the race.
E is for Entroterra Romagnolo, the Romagna hinterland: with its wonderful landscape offers to all the participants to Nove Colli an incredible experience both on a visual and on a sporting point of view!
F is for Fausto Coppi, the sport group who recently celebrated the 50th birthday that created, first in the world, the Granfondo par excellence!
G is for Granfondo, an amateur cycling event invented in 1971 by G.C. Fausto Coppi with Nove Colli, which soon became a format emulated all over the world.
H is for Hotel, because the accomodating system in Romagna always proves to be an excellence of our territory, even during an event which attracts thousands of tourists around the world such as Nove Colli.
I is for International: 47 countries were represented in this 46th edition. There were riders even from Australia and New Zealand. It can't be any more international than this!
L is for Lungomare Carducci, where the arrive of Nove Colli is located: a goal every participant of the Granfondo yearns for.
M is for Minigranfondo, the ecological ride dedicated to children from 7 to 14 years old in order to pass them the passion for cycling!
N is for Nine, obviously, just like the number of hills that the participants must confront during the 200-km long course. What a nightmare the Barbotto and the Gorolo, but what a satisfaction gives passing them through!
O is for Oncologic, just like the research that this year, for the first time, Nove Colli supported with the cooperation with IOR (Istituto Oncologico Romagnolo).
P is for Pasta Party, a real celebration within the celebration!
Q is for Quarantasei, Forty-Six in Italian, just like the editions of Nove Colli: a number that makes it the world's most ancient Granfondo, and the Queen of the Granfondo's!
R is for Running, because some decide to confront the 200-km long course by walk! A challenge within the challenge, that often requires more than one day running!
S is for Simoncelli, Sic, the motorcycling champion deceased in 2011 in Sepang. In order to honour Marco, who took part to an edition of Nove Colli too, G.C. Fausto Coppi decided to retire the number 58 and give it to his father, Paolo.
T is for Traguardo, Finish Line in Italian, the mirage yearned for every amateur rider which takes part to Nove Colli, also because anyone who is able to cross it is a real winner!
U is for University, because Nove Colli this year was also a graduating thesis topic, about the economic impact the Granfondo has in Romagna.
V is for Volunteers: the real strength of Nove Colli. They are 1100, an organizing machine so precise and accurate to make many professional events blush.
Z is for Zanetti, because we started from the last arrived, the coerence imposes to close with the winner!
