Nove Colli #BeGreen

  • Ecological Guards on watch
  • Cyclists caught in the act will be disqualified for 2 years
  • Extended Ecozone
  • Usual street cleaning service from the following day

"Be green" is the motto that accompanies the 49th edition of Nove Colli that will start at dawn on May 19th.

The Granfondo of Cesenatico has always paid particular attention to the ecological impact of the event, creating special "eco-zones" and taking care to clean the streets from the day after the race.

For 2019, the organisation has decided to increase its commitment even further. It added more volunteers, focused on identifying cyclists who throw waste and litter roadside during the race.

Special patrols composed of Ecological Guards will be positioned along the routes, accompanied by special cameras ready to record and report prohibited behaviour and trigger disqualifications against athletes caught in the act.

The ecozones, or the green islands along the route where participants can throw their waste away without incurring penalties, will be expanded.

Furthermore, Nove Colli joins the fight against plastic, trying to eliminate as much as possible its unnecessary use. From this year in fact, cutlery and plates at the refreshment stops and the Pasta Party will be biodegradable materials.
