Nove Colli establishes a prize for the Alzheimer Marathon

The Gran Premio del Barbotto - Nove Colli for the Alzheimer Marathon was presented with a donation to the Alzheimer Marathon Foundation from the sponsor SCOTT-Sports

Romagna joins again from the hills to the sea in the name of solidarity. ASD G.C. Fausto Coppi, thanks to the collaboration with SCOTT-Sports, a leading Swiss company in the production of bicycles and sportswear, establishes the first edition of the Gran Premio del Barbotto - Nove Colli for Alzheimer's, in support of the Alzheimer's Marathon Foundation.

The prize will be awarded to the participant who during the next edition of the Nove Colli, to be held on Sunday 26 September, will report the best climbing time of the legendary Barbotto climb, the most demanding of the entire route and representative of the union of the two events: it is located in Mercato Saraceno, a few meters from the headquarters of the Alzheimer Marathon Foundation.

“The recent known vicissitudes linked to the pandemic have meant that the Nove Colli, in its fiftieth edition, ran close to another great event such as the Alzheimer Marathon” says Andrea Agostini, President of GC Fausto Coppi. “At that point the friends of the Marathon asked to do something together to help raise funds for the disease. In perfect Romagna spirit, we thought very little about it and, thanks to the sensitivity of the SCOTT-Sports company and its managers, we set up a mini-challenge on the iconic mountain GP in favor of the foundation ".

"2021 will be a year to remember" confirms Giorgia Battelli, Fundraising Manager of the Marathon Alzheimer Foundation, "we will celebrate, in addition to the finish line of the X edition of the Alzheimer Marathon, the birth of this new solidarity event that broadens the horizon from Cesenatico to a national and international panorama "

The recently established Alzheimer Marathon Foundation is the bearer of a cultural vision that combines the themes of rights, care and assistance with those of prevention and scientific research, through the sharing of experiences, the creation of projects, awareness raising. institutions, the promotion of concrete support activities in the communities.

"We are very happy to be able to make a contribution, within our partnership with a great event such as the Nove Colli, to a solidarity initiative that was born in a unique territory such as Romagna and is committed to issues that we consider to be of importance and of universal value for the community” underlines Ivano Camozzi, Brand Manager of SCOTT Italy.

We will therefore have to wait until September 26 to find out the winner of the solidarity time trial of the 50th edition of the Nove Colli, but we already know for sure that the spirit of sharing and collaboration that distinguishes these two events will win.
